Mrs. Ekwutosi Sanita Nwakpu is a lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, Faculty of Social Sciences, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Nigeria. She joined the institution in 2015. Her research interest which engages with the relationship between media and globalisation has special focus on mediation of distant and proximal suffering and audience studies. She teaches Foreign Correspondence, Interpersonal Communication, Writing for Mass Media etc.
Mrs. Nwakpu was a member students advisers committee in the department of Political Sciences and Mass communication. Presently, she is the secretary Faculty of Management and Social Sciences Community Engagement Committee; member Department of Mass Communication Students’ Association Advisory Committee; member Welfare and Ethics Committee; member Departmental Research and Development Committee; and level adviser for third year undergraduate students of Mass Communication.
Mrs. Nwakpu holds a B.Sc in Mass Communication from Ebonyi State University, Nigeria; an M.A in Mass Communication from University of Leicester, United Kingdom and Currently pursuing her Ph.D in Theories and Research in Media Studies. Before joining the institution she has Attitudinal Change and Community Rebranding Award of Excellence and was NwamgbokoEbonyi/Miss RATTAWU (Radio, Television Theatre And Workers Union) Ebonyi State chapter. She is married and blessed with children.
