BIOGRAPHY (EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS)

Chidebe Chijioke Uwaleke is currently a lecturer in the Department of Science Education, Faculty of Education, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (AE-FUNAI), in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. He obtained a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Science Education (Chemistry) from the University of Nigeria Nsukka and Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka respectively. Currently, he is at the verge of obtaining his Doctorate Degree (PHD) in Science Education (Chemistry) from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka. Chidebe Chijioke Uwaleke joined Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (AE-FUNAI) in June 2016 as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry/Biochemistry/Molecular Biology where he taught Environmental and Inorganic Chemistry courses to the undergraduate students. Because of his excellent background in Science Education, immediately the Faculty of Education was created on 30th July 2016, Uwaleke was redeployed to the Department of Science Education as the pioneer staff of the department were he contributed immensely towards ensuring that all programmes in the department successfully passed the resource verification and accreditation exercise conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Chidebe Chijioke Uwaleke is specialized in teaching Chemistry and Science Education courses. Do to his wide experience in teaching, research and academic excellence, he has been appointed by the Department, Faculty and the University to oversee some vital positions. Some of the positions includes: Examination Coordinator/officer of science education department; member of the AE-FUNAI Webometric committee; member course evaluation committee, member of the teaching and learning committee of the Faculty of Education. He is also a member of the Faculty of Education undergraduate project committee, member Faculty of Education accreditation committee, academic adviser to Chemistry Education student’s, chairman department of science education handbook review committee, member faculty of education handbook committee, secretary faculty of education curriculum and programme development committee. He reviewed/prepared handbook for the following programmes in Science Education Department (biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, physical & health education programmes). He diligently carries out responsibilities given to him by his HOD, Dean and University management. Chidebe Chijioke Uwaleke has published widely in his research area of science education, innovative teaching approaches, students’ interests and academic achievement, environmental education and climate change, skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development, effective feedback and assessment. He has some empirical papers already accepted for publication in highly reputable world class journals. He has over 6 years of working experience in well-established academic institutions. He has worked with team of experts in his area and has published a good number of research works with them. Chidebe Uwaleke has delivered expert lectures on topics related to his core research interests. He is a member of many professional bodies including: the Science Teachers’ Association of Nigeria (STAN) and Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
