biography (Education/professional experience/professional accomplishments)

David I. Nwakanma currently serves as a Graduate Assistant at the Department of English and Literary Studies, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, Nigeria. He obtained his B.A/Ed in Education English from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. 2010 followed by a Masters Degree in Literature from Imo State University, Owerri, and he is awaiting result. David I. Nwakanma is the author of two published novels Soft Spot (2012) and The Prize for Diligence (2013).  He has also written some short stories published in anthologies The Loss (2012) in Voices from the Classroom, an anthology of School of Arts, AIFCE, Owerri, The Forebearant (2019) in Metaphor for Happiness and Other Stories,  an anthology of short stories published by Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike. His unpublished works include Stoop to Conquer – a novel. He is a contributor in yet to be published the Use of English 1 text book of  the Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike.

 

David I. Nwakanma is specialized in the field of African Literature – Prose and Poetry- especially performance poetry. He teaches the Use of English, grammar, LEP and other literature related courses at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike. He is a certified teacher and a member of Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria. He has 10 years of working experience in well-established secondary schools, and other academic institutions where he led them to win laurels in debates, essay competitions, spelling bees etc. He has interest in developing and inspiring young people.
