BIOGRAPHY (EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS)
Dr. Benson I. Igboanugo is currently a Lecturer II in the Department of Science Education at Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ikwo, Ebonyi State of Nigeria. He obtained Ph.D in Science Education (Chemistry) from the University of Nigeria Nsukka in May, 2018. Dr. Igboanugo research areas include students’ achievement and interest in Chemistry, teaching and learning difficult concepts in Chemistry, instructional approaches in Chemistry, gender issues in teaching and learning Chemistry, the teacher factor and school locations effects on the outcomes of Chemistry instruction. He has published articles in peer-reviewed journals. Dr Igboanugo has in conjunction with the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, Awka served as a Basic Science resource person from 2014 to 2016 in cluster schools teacher training for the serving primary school teachers in Anambra State. He also served as a resource person in 2017 for training of serving Secondary School Chemistry teachers on effective teaching of some difficult Chemistry concepts in two-day workshop organized by Science Teacher Association of Nigeria in conjunction with Anambra State Post Primary Schools Service Commission, Awka. Dr. Igboanugo has delivered a lot of lectures in his area of specialization and delivered papers at conferences and workshops. He has over twenty years work experience in the teaching and learning of sciences.
