BIOGRAPHY (EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS)

Dr. Ifeoma  Mercy Benedette  Uba, Is currently a Counseling Psychologist Lecturer  in the Department of Educational Foundations, of Alex-Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu  Alike, Ikwo, Ebonyi State Nigeria. She obtained her Ph.D in counseling psychology from Nnamdi Azikwe  University Awka Anambra State. She is a professional teacher and her counseling interest include mental health counseling, career counseling, marriage and family counseling.

Dr. Uba has acquired counseling experience for over Twenty years, a prolific writer who has contributed to book chapters  and research articles in peer reviewed journals on Education and counseling  Psychology in many professional organizations such as Counseling Association of Nigeria (CASSON), Nigerian Council of Educational Psychologist (NCEP), Education Dialogue Association and others.

She has worked relentlessly to uphold the ideal of counseling profession in Nigeria, was the former secretary of counseling Association of Nigeria Anambra State chapter and currently Secretary of Counselling Association of Nigeria Ebonyi State chapter. Dr. Uba has delivered lectures on areas related to marriage and family counseling, mental health counseling etc.

Dr. Uba is a mother and a proud counselor blessed with five children all graduates working within and outside the country.

Dr.  Uba is a certified counselor of Nigeria (CCN).
