BIOGRAPHY (EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS)
Mrs Itoro Oku George currently serves as a Lecturer II at the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ikwo, Ebonyi State, Nigeria. She is about to obtain her Ph.D in Anatomy from the University of Port Harcourt, Choba, Nigeria. Mrs George’s research areas include Comparative Neuroanatomy, Neuroscience, Histochemisty, and Iimmunohistochemistry. Part of her M.Sc. research Project work entitled “Comparative Neuroanatomical study of the Amygdala and Fear Conditioning in Nigerian Breeds of Artiodactyla: Sheep (Uda) and Goats (Red Sokoto)” was selected as a Poster Award finalist and awarded Second Prize after presentation (presented by Dr. Alawa J. N.) at the American Association of Anatomists (AAA) Postdoctoral Poster Competition, Experimental Biology Meeting, San Diego, California, U.S.A. in April, 2018. She has been recently awarded a Graduate Scholarship at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. Mrs George has more than six (6) years working experience in well-established academic institutions. She has delivered lectures on topics related to his core research interests in classrooms, conferences, and seminars.
