candidates for AE-FUNAI Microfinance Bank located in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

- Head of Banking Operations/Finance & Accounts
- Head of Risk Management, Credit and Marketing
- Head of Human Resource/General Administration/Company Secretary
- Head of ICT/MIS
- Head of Internal Audit and Compliance.
Please, note: Applicants must not be more than fifty (50) years of age at the time of appointment and must enjoy good health. Applicant must also be computer literate and must have Five O’Level (5) Credits including English Language and Mathematics. In addition to specific requirements for each post, applicants must also meet the minimum qualifications and experiences required for officers who
would occupy key/top management positions in microfinance bank as stipulated in Section 4.2.1 (b) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Revised Regulatory and Supervisory Guidelines for Microfinance Banks in Nigeria. The minimum requirements are as follows:
- A minimum of first degree or equivalent in any discipline (additional qualification or degree in any finance or business related discipline may be an advantage)
- A minimum of five (5) years post-qualification experience out of which, at least four (4) must have been in the financial services industry and at least, two (2) at the senior management level
- Evidence of possession of proven skills and competences in practical microfinance banking and has undergone the Microfinance Certification Programme and obtained a Certificate in Microfinance Banking (MCIB) issued by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN)

1. Job Title: Head Banking Operations/Finance & Accounts
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Maintenance of proper books of accounts and records and reconciliation of accounts with correspondence banks.
- Liaison with correspondence banks to ensure adequacy of cash for operations.
- Ensures that the Bank maintains proper and healthy relationship with its customers.
- Authorizing withdrawals in customers’ accounts in accordance to limits.
- Updates customers’ accounts.
- Performs cheque clearing functions.
- Disburses approved loans.
- Prepares and renders Returns to Regulatory Authorities.
- Arranges for settlement of PAYE, WHT, CIT, Pension, etc.
- Prepares necessary reports such as Statement of Assets and Liabilities, Income and Expenditure Statement, Annual Budget and Budget Performance Reports, Reports on Deposit and Loans and Annual Financial Statements for the use by Management, Board and Regulators.
- Daily call over of all transactions.

2. Job Title: Head, Risk Management Credit and Marketing
Key duties and responsibilities:

- Working with the Chief Operating Officer to develop and effectively implement the Enterprise Risk Management framework across the Organization.
- Recovery of delinquent debts.
- Ensuring that the Bank registers and maintains the services of Credit Bureaus.
- Counselling and educating borrowers on the Bank’s loan procedures, obligation to repay loans according to schedules, and value of personal savings.
- Appraising and recommending loan requests to the Managing Director, Management Credit Committee and Board Credit Committee for approval in line with the Bank’s policies and procedures.
- Working out loan repayment arrangement with borrowers and preparing loan repayment schedule with the borrowers’ consent, and in line with the Bank’s standard.
- Documentation, verification and perfection of collaterals for loans.
- Maintaining database of all loans customers.
- Representing the Bank in Court cases involving loan customers.
- Preparing monthly reports on loan disbursement, loan repayment, loan performance and investment plans.
- Designing new products and modifying existing ones to meet with customers’ demand.
- Marketing the Bank’s credit and savings products.
- Savings mobilization.
- Planning and coordinating customers’ forum.

3. Job Title: Head, Human Resource & Board Secretary
Key duties and responsibilities:

- Maintaining orderly, up to date and systematic records and files for employees and Directors.
- Maintaining shareholders register and records.
- Arranges for settlement of bills arising from services rendered to the Bank and for purchases made by the Bank.
- Arranges security and surveillance for the Bank’s premises on a 24 hour basis, including locking up and opening of the Bank’s premises.
- Sees to the orderliness and cleanliness of the Bank premises.
- Maintains inventory of the Bank’s assets and security items.
- Performs all functions pertaining to advertisement, recruitment and selection into vacant positions and induction of new employees as may be directed by the Chief Executive.
- Obtains clearance and letters of references from employers of prospective employees.
- Coordinates training for all categories of staff and Directors and functions as the Chief Training Officer of the Bank.
- Coordinates counselling and discipline of staff members and refers disciplinary cases to appropriate authority.
- Purchases and services ancillary assets and consumables required for the Bank’s day to day operations.
- Refers all legal matters to external solicitors.
- Develops and reviews staff appraisal forms and coordinates its administration to members of staff through their departmental heads.
- Develops and reviews personnel policies and procedures for Board’s consideration and approval.
- Forwards monthly report on staff performance to the Managing Director.
- Conducts exit interviews and coordinates proper handover of Bank’s properties with exiting staff.
- Gives clearance to exiting staff before payment of severance packages.
- Coordinates General Meetings, Board Meetings and functions as the Bank’s Secretary and functions as the Bank’s image maker.

4. Job Title: Head, MIS/ICT
Key duties and responsibilities:

- Identifying the output requirements of each department; including regulators, and ensuring that these are factored into the software to be used in the Bank’s operations.
- Design and implementation of the Bank’s MIS strategies and Policies.
- Obtains and or provides all operational instructions.
- Determining the adequacy of the Bank’s MIS and making recommendations for improvement.
- Ensuring the security and integrity of the Bank’s data.
- Restricting physical access to computer terminal and software.
- Responsible for installation and operation of the Bank’s computers and other information and communication technology and surveillance equipment.
- Assigning passwords to users of computers and cancelling that of non- users or disengaged staff.
- Regular back-up of files and securing the files in designated places.
- Regular training of staff on information management and technology.
- Ensures routine servicing of all computers and maintains relationship with ICT consultants.
- Maintains Error Log Register.
- Advises management on technology upgrade.
- Ensures that the Bank’s information highways and transmission channels are free from all encumbrances and functions optimally.
- Daily call over of all entries.
- Serves as the Chief Information Technology Officer and Secretary of the IT Steering Committee.

5. Job Title: Internal Auditor and Compliance Officer
Key duties and responsibilities:

- Assisting the Board in setting out policies and internal control procedures for the good governance of the Bank.
- Determining compliance with established Policies.
- Identifying weaknesses in the internal control system.
- Ensures that proper procedures are followed in the acquisition and or disposal of assets and that the Bank gets value for its money.
- Conducting audit in all departments and activities of the Bank.
- Reviewing monthly departmental reports and prepares audit report on findings and recommendations for Board and management.
- Preparing quarterly report on audit findings and recommendations for the use of the Management and Board through the Board Audit Committee.
- Ensuring implementation of the recommendations of the External Auditors and Regulatory Authorities.
- Advising management on best control measures and efficient use of resources.
- Carrying out occasional cash count, stock taking and physical verification of assets.
- Ensuring free flow of information to External Auditors and Regulatory Authorities and verifying claims and collaterals.
- Ensuring that laws, regulations and supervisory requirements are complied with.
- Preparing and monitoring the implementation of the Bank’s strategic and operational plan.
- Acts as Secretary to Board Audit and Risk Management Committee.
