AE-FUNAI BURSAR HONOURED BY KWARA COMMUNITY

  • As AE-FUNAI VC Becomes “Oluomo Of Babanlomo Land”

The Bursar of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, Alhaji Rafiu Kolawole Aliu was recently honoured by the Babanloma community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State for his meritorious service and contribution to the growth and development of the community.

Speaking during an event held at the Community Secondary School, Babanloma playground, the Loma of Babanloma, Oba M. J Usman Ailara, Aniwajoye II, noted that Alhaji Aliu was a worthy son of the community, who has invested both his time and money in championing the course of the community especially that of the poor and less privileged.

The royal father maintained that over the years, the university bursar has contributed immensely to the development of the community by supporting various youth’s empowerment schemes and helped to secure employment and admission opportunities for competent and qualified indigenes of the community in various public and private organizations.

He further thanked the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Chinedum Nwajiuba for the cordial and supportive relationship he enjoys with their son, which was made manifest by the attendance of the entire University Management and numerous other cadres of staff at the event. As a show of appreciation, the Oba also bestowed on the Vice-Chancellor a chieftaincy title “Oluomo of Babanloma Land”. He also assured the Vice-Chancellor of the continuous support and prayers of Babanloma people for the sustenance of on-going massive developmental strides in the university.

The University Bursar was bestowed with the traditional title of “Sobaloju of Babanloma land” for his numerous contributions to the Babanloma community and human race.

Expressing his gratitude to Oba Aliara, his council of chiefs and the entire Babanloma land for the honour, Alhaji Aliu noted that it would serve as a source of greater motivation, adding that he would continue to serve the community and his people. He also used the opportunity to thank the Vice-Chancellor, principal officers and the entire university community for their show of love and support, pledging his unalloyed support to the continued success of the university.
