
AE-FUNAI Women Association ‘Walks to Keep Fit’, Organizes End of the Year Party
The Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike Women Association (AE-FUNAI WA) led by their President, Dr. (Mrs.) Chinyere Nwajiuba, recently organized a walk around the University campus to promote physical fitness and mental alertness among members.
The association which is an umbrella body of all female staff of the University started the physical exercise from the G. O. Chukwu block to the University main gate and back to the take-off point with much enthusiasm and camaraderie.

Meanwhile, the association has also organized a get-together to celebrate the end of the year. The occasion which took place at the Needs Assessment Building, brought together members of the University community especially women in an atmosphere of conviviality.
Declaring the occasion open, the President of the association, Dr. (Mrs.) Nwajiuba expressed her joy and gratitude to God for a successful year, thanking also all those that played one role or the other in the advancement of the course of the association.

She extolled the University Management for supporting the association in ‘building and promoting AE-FUNAI WA family bond’, noting that many wives of staff have been employed, thus improving social security and promoting mutual family ties in the University.
Dr. (Mrs.) Nwajiuba also expressed her deep delight over the kind gestures and tremendous philanthropic supports of Management to the association’s early education project, praising a member of the association, the University Registrar, Mrs. Odisa C. Okeke for her numerous contributions to the development of the university.

“And to you all, who contributed in one way or the other to the development of our projects, we owe you thousand thanks and immeasurable debts especially Mrs. Afoma Ifemene (Mama Ikwo), for your spiritual inspiration and motivation”, she stated.
She further assured members that the association’s blueprint for next year has been prepared and would be religiously followed to the later. Stressing further, she maintained that the members of the association will undergo free medical screening next year so as to ensure effective working system and avert unsuspected emergency health situation among staff.
