• Cements Relationship

The Management Board of Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, (AE-FUTHA) on Wednesday, July 31st 2019, paid courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Prof. Chinedum  Nwajiuba  to chart way forward on the memorandum on the working relationship between the two institutions and assess level of preparedness on the visit of Vice-President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, to commission projects in the two institutions.

Addressing management of the university, Dr. Emeka Ogah, Chief Medical Director, AEFUTHA, said the meeting was to push AE-FUTHA and AE-FUNAI to a greater height.  He added that the Vice- President’s visit to commission the just concluded solar plant is a commendable one and wishes that the project would be extended to AE-FUTHA. He further thanked the Vice-Chancellor for his warm reception, saying the relationship between AE-FUTHA and AE-FUNAI is like a marriage and would yield fruits.

Prof. Nwajiuba, in his speech said that the Integrated Power Plant System in AE-FUNAI is the first to be commissioned in all the universities energized. He expressed delight over the execution of the project that started last year and was completed in record time for the commissioning, come Friday, August 2nd, 2019. Prof. Nwajiuba mentioned that there has been 4-days uninterrupted solar power supply, preparatory for commissioning of the plant. Onreceiving the draft of MoU from the Chairman of Drafting Committee, Prof.P.  Ezeonu, he thanked Managing Board of AEFUTHA for coming and the committee for job done. He asked them to schedule for endorsement of the MoU soon and promised to show commitment towards cementing the relationship between the sister institutions.
