
AKACHI EZEIGBO DONATES N1M TO FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY, AE-FUNAI
A literary icon and academic of international standing, Professor Akachi Ezeigbo, yesterday, donated One Million Naira to the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State.
The mouth-watering gesture is coming at a time the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Chinedum Nwajiuba is calling on international and domestic donor agencies and investors, philanthropic and good-spirited individuals and people of goodwill to partner the university in different areas, geared towards the academic and infrastructural development of the institution.

Ezeigbo’s donation was informed by the need to provide critical equipment for the Faculty of Engineering and Technology meant for practical training of the students to make them resourceful on graduation.
While addressing members of the University Management, Ezeigbo noted that she was motivated to make her modest contribution towards repositioning the engineering faculty because of the dynamic and exemplary leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, which according to her, has turned the university around in the last two years.
“I was touched by the Vice-Chancellor’s dynamic and exemplary leadership and decided to give One Million Naira to provide some equipment for the engineering faculty
“I was also motivated by the donations made by other people, especially staff, towards the development of the university”, she concluded.

Expressing his gratitude for the donation, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nwajiuba reiterated his resolve to ensure that the university becomes a reference point in Nigeria and beyond, noting that all hands must be on deck for the vision to become a reality.
He thanked the donor for supporting the dream of running a different kind of engineering faculty where students are imbued with the functional skills to meet the demands of a globalized economy, urging other members of staff to key in.
