ASMEDA HONOURS AE-FUNAI VC

The Association of Specialists Medical Doctors in Academics (ASMEDA) has honoured the Vice-Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, Professor Chinedum Nwajiuba with an Excellence Service Award for his extraordinary achievements in the areas of academic and infrastructural development in the University.

While presenting the award to him recently, the National President of the association, Professor M. B. Tanko Umar, noted that the Vice-Chancellor has shown leadership in the way the ship of the University has been stirred since his assumption of office over two years ago.

 He maintained that under his watch, the University has witnessed massive academic expansion and infrastructural development, urging him to maintain the tempo in order to carve a niche for the University.

Represented by the Ebonyi State Chapter Chairman, Dr. Obrien John Chukwu, the national president also used the opportunity to thank the Vice-Chancellor for his support to the association, especially for allowing the University to host its National Executive Council meeting in November, 2018.

He explained that the association is made up of specialist medical doctors who are teaching in various institutions of higher learning in the country, and pleaded with the Vice-Chancellor to support its members working in the University in the area of capacity building.

 

Expressing his gratitude to the association for the award, Professor Nwajiuba assured them of his continued support, adding that the University is interested in building the capacities of its workforce to make them productive and relevant in a globalized economy.
