
FUNAI COMMITTED TO ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE – Dr. Icha-Ituma
The Director of the Centre for Internationalization, Linkages, Advancement and Global Ranking at Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (Ebonyi State), Dr. Afam Icha-Ituma said the University is committed to achieving global best practices in all its academic activities.
Dr. Icha-Ituma made this known during a meeting of the University Webometric Committee on Wednesday, 17th May, 2017.
“We are committed to institutional effectiveness in other to give the University, its staff and products and their achievements global visibility”, he stated.

The erudite scholar also noted that the Webometric Committee was instituted to properly advise and guide the academic staff on how to gain global recognition through their works, adding that the Committee’s work also involves repositioning the University website to give necessary visibility to staff, their academic publications, Faculty and Departmental news and University inventions, breakthroughs and other achievements. This, according to him would improve the global ranking of the University.

He further called on all academics in the University to get registered and have their profile and publications uploaded on the Research Gate and Google Scholar so as to share knowledge with other scholars and also have their scholarly works read and cited by people all over the world.
The highpoint of the meeting was the handing over of the Chairmanship of the Committee to Dr. Icha-Ituma by the Director of Research and Development, Prof. O. O Ugwu

In his speech, Prof. Ugwu thanked members of the Committee for their support and drive to make the University a force to be reckoned with in the academic world, requesting them to accord the same support to the new chairman to make the University, its staff and graduates globally competitive.
