FUNAI IS 2ND BEST IN NIGERIAN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS’ DEBATE AND PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION
The culture of academic excellence being instilled into students of the Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi State under the leadership of Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba is already bearing fruits in leaps and bounds. In terms of the quality of our products and students as well as academic ranking, FUNAI is making serious impression within and outside the country.
This came to the fore during the 2017 Inter-tertiary Institutions Debate and Public Speaking Competition organized by the Nigerian Debating Society at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife, between February 20th to 22nd, 2017, as FUNAI secured 2nd and 4th positions in Public Speaking and Debate Competitions respectively among all tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The University was represented at the event by four students that included Agbafor Joshua (400-level), Ibe Timothy (300-level), Okeke God’s great (200-level) and Uche Joseph (200-level), all of the Department of Biology/Microbiology/ Biotechnology.
Receiving the students at his office on Monday, 27th February, 2017, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba praised their gallantry, assuring them of the University’s support in future engagements.

The Vice Chancellor further charged them and other students of the University to study hard in order to be the best, noting that, as soaring eagles they should soar above their contemporaries in all aspects of life.
