FUNAI Student-Musician, David Attah Speaks On Debut Single- “FUNAI: Home of Soaring Eagles”

  • Says: “Music Is My Calling, FUNAI Song an inspiration from God”

The campus rave of the moment and crooner of the popular ‘FUNAI: Home of Soaring Eagles’ song, David Attah said the song which has made him the toast of staff and students and cynosure of all eyes on campus was inspired by God, adding that making music was his divine calling.

Attah who spoke to our correspondent after he performed at a workshop organized recently by the FUNAI Women Association with the theme “Overcoming youthful Exuberance in the University” noted that the conducive learning environment provided by the University Management has enabled him to effectively combine his academics and musical career.

He added that in line with the vision of the University to nurture youths that will make global impact, he was equally committed to excelling in his chosen career, advising other students to take advantage of the institution’s support to young talents to discover their innate qualities.

Recall that Attah, a student of the Department of Economics and Development Studies of the University, presented his maiden music single during the 2nd FUNAI Lecture series in August 2016, and equally performed and thrilled the audience at the maiden convocation ceremony of the University in December of the same year where he was offered a scholarship by a business man, Comrade Chinedu Ogah, for his extra-ordinary artistic display.

Attah whose genre of music is gospel said what informed his voyage into the world of gospel music as against the secular music, which is the popular trajectory of most young minds; was because of its soul-searching nature.

The Edo born gospel artist further added that music was his life and would not excel in any other career outside the world of gospel music, noting that studying Economics in the University was only an added incentive to fulfilling his destiny as a musician.

The 23 year old guitarist, singer and performer who is distinguished by his Barry White kind of voice advised intending University students all over the country to choose FUNAI as their prime destinations because of the capacity of the institution to help them discover, hone and manage their hidden talents
