
FUNAI VC CELEBRATES GOD’S FAITHFULNESS
It was a gathering of crème de la crème of the society that included members of the academia, captains of industries, politicians, clergy, traditional institution, and indeed people of all works of life as the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi state, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba celebrated God’s timeless faithfulness in his life.
The joyful thanksgiving event which was to appreciate God for his appointment as the 2nd substantive Vice Chancellor of the University took place on Tuesday, 18th April, 2017 at the St Mathew’s Anglican Church, Umuezeala Nsu, Ehime Mbano, Imo State.

It was characterized with prayers, praises, thanksgiving, dedication and hymns sang to the glory of God for His mercies and faithfulness to the Nwajiuba’s family over the years.
In a sermon “Celebrating God’s faithfulness”, the Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Okigwe South, Rt. Rev. David Onuoha explained that the elevation of Prof. Nwajiuba to the enviable position of Vice Chancellor was a manifestation of God’s special favour on him for his commitment to the service of God and humanity over the years.
The Anglican Bishop further noted that the thanksgiving church service was also to dedicate the Vice Chancellor to God for the arduous task ahead of him as a University helmsman.
“God does not give his grace in vain. Whatever grace God gives has a corresponding responsibility”, Bishop Okeke said.

Admonishing the Vice Chancellor to continue to demonstrate God’s righteousness in his position of authority, the Anglican clergyman said: “Make the conditions in the Nigeria University system acceptable. Be the light and guide in the University community and bring them to a place of righteousness”, and further charged him to make the Nigerian University system better, devoid of cultism, ‘sorting’ and indecent dressing.
In his vote of thanks, Prof. Nwajiuba said: ‘No doubt this God is real. He answers prayers”, advising the congregation to allow themselves to be used by God. He thanked all those that came to felicitate with him for their sacrifice.

Among the dignitaries that attended the event were the former Senate President, Chief Senator Adolphus Wabara, Senator representing Ebonyi South in the National Assembly, Chief Sonny Ogboji, Chairman of the University Governing Council, Prof. Mba Uzoukwu, former Chief Judge of Imo State, Justice Njamanze, former President and Secretary General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Idu Igariwe and Chief J. Nworgu respectively, and members of the University Management and many others.
