FUNAI VC IS WORKER FRIENDLY- SSANU NATIONAL VICE PRESIDENT
The National Vice President of the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU), Easter zone, Dr. Leku Ador has described the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi state, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba as worker-friendly, noting that his cordial relationship with staff of the institution is rare to find in any Nigerian Universities.
Dr. Ador made this known when he led other executive members of the zone to inaugurate the University’s branch of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities on Monday, 16th January, 2016.

The Union leader extolled the Vice Chancellor for his numerous workers’ friendly decisions in the University which had led to the continuous and prompt full payment of workers’ salaries even when many Universities in Nigeria were still battling with salary shortfall.
“Today is one of the rare opportunities where a Vice Chancellor and the entire Management of an University is present during an inauguration of our executive”, he stated.
He further noted that the recent promotion, proper placement and upgrading of some staff of the University as highlighted by the SSANU, FUNAI Branch Chairman, Comrade Emmanuel Chigbata was a testament to the Vice Chancellor’s commitment to staff welfare, adding that both staff and Management are partners in progress.
While urging members of the Union to be diligent and above board in the discharge of their responsibilities, Dr. Ador admonished them to avoid truancy, lateness, absenteeism and other forms of unethical behaviors and stressed that ‘we do not defend illegality’.
In his response, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nwajiuba thanked the SSANU National body for finding time to inaugurate the University’s branch, adding that the University Management would continue to work harmoniously with all the Unions in the institution. The Vice Chancellor further reiterated his unshakable commitment towards staff welfare and the speedy development of the University, calling on staff to ensure efficient and effective discharge of their various job schedules for the University to move forward.

The highpoint of the event was the oath of allegiance sworn by the executive members of SSANU, FUNAI Branch led by their Chairman, Comrade Emmanuel Chigbata.
