
INTERNATIONAL UNION OF RADIO SCIENCE COMMENDS FUNAI ACADEMIC
A Professor of Engineering Physics at the Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi State, Prof. Michael U. Onuu has been commended by the International Union of Radio Science (URSI) for his achievements in radio science.

URSI is an international body that stimulates and coordinates studies, research, applications, scientific exchange, and communication in the field of radio science. It has its headquarters in Gent, Belgium.
In a letter dated 15the May, 2017 and signed by the Secretary General of the Union, Prof. Paul Lagasse, URSI congratulated Onuu for his achievements as a radio scientist, adding that the organization looks forward to a deepening relationship with him.
The organization also appointed him an URSI International Member.
Professor Onuu was selected to represent Nigeria on Scientific Commission (Commission C), Radio Communication Systems & Signal Processing, of the URSI since 2008.
He has published extensively in the area of radio science and has used ultra-high frequency (UHF) waves to characterize cities, and to determine their degree of urbanization, among others.
For this feat, the Vice Chancellor of FUNAI, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba,on behalf of Management, Staff and Students of the University congratulates Onuu for putting the name of the institution on the world map, urging him to continue on that positive stride in all his engagements while also challenging other members of staff to pursue excellence in their various fields.
