MASS COMMUNICATION DEPT TAKES OVER AEFUNAI RADIO
The Department of Mass Communication, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State was on Wednesday, 6th March, 2019, officially directed to take over the management of AE-FUNAI Radio Station.
TheVice-Chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba, gave the directive when he received members of the department in his conference room when they came to show solidarity and support to the VC on the result of the National Universities Commission giving full accreditation to the programme and to the faculty at large.
The team which was led by the Dean of the faculty, Prof. Afam Icha-Ituma, expressed their robust feelings towards the de-merging of Mass Communication from the Political Science programme witnessed among other things.

In her remarks, the Head of the Department, Dr. Ngozi E. Uduma, extolled the rare virtues in the Vice-Chancellor in his transformation drive and described him as an education master strategist. She sought among other things in their requests, an authorization to manage AEFUNAI Radio, an approval to publish newspapers and magazines to enhance visibility of the activities of the university.
Other requests included approval to start a blog to enhance online global visibility and approval to collaborate with the Public Relations Unit to advance teaching, learning and practice of Public Relations among others.

The Vice-Chancellor granted their request and urged them to hit the ground running, noting their readiness and expertise in the field knowledge and classroom ability to produce graduates that are globally competent to create employment.
The Vice-Chancellor was exhilarated over the ‘quality of content’ found in the team and promised to raise an office block for the Faculty of Social Sciences in an appreciable time.
