NATIONAL EXECUTIVES OF BIOTECHNOLOGY SOCIETY OF NIGERIA (BSN) VISITS AE-FUNAI
The Vice-Chancellor, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, Professor Chinedum Nwajiuba, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Sunday Elom, on Friday 29th November 2019, received the newly inaugurated National LOC / Executives of Biotechnology Society of Nigeria, who paid courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor.
While addressing the new officers of the society at VC’s Conference Room, venue of the reception, Prof. Sunday Elom, stated that VC has passion for Biotechnology and that was why he gave approval for the University to host the Conference of the Society in 2020.
The new National President, Prof. Benjamin Ubi, who spoke on behalf of the team, thanked the Vice- Chancellor, for the warm reception given to them and thereafter introduced the new executives. Prof. Ubi told VC and other University Officers present at the event, that since after the BSN Conference of 2006, the Society has not remained the same, pointing out that the newly inaugurated EXCOS who just received their charge, are serious-minded people, who had worked with him in the past. He asserted that he could attest to the high level of commitment, accountability and transparency of the new team, assuring that with God on their side, they will deliver beyond expectations in organizing the forth coming Conference. He promised that the Society will be positioned to be counted during his tenure and the 2020 Conference rated like no other in the history of the society, while thanking the University for all the Cooperation and support for the Society.
Speaking further, Prof. Elom congratulated the new executives and pledged the University’s continued support for the society and the coming Conference and wished them well as they carry on with their assignments.
