PHILANTHROPIC REV. FATHER OMOGO DONATES ANOTHER BOREHOLE TO AE-FUNAI

It was a true show of humanitarian service on Monday January 13, 2020, when a Catholic Priest, Reverend Father Dr. Peter Omogo of the Samuel Omogo Foundation, handed over a water borehole he single handedly built and donated to the Medical Centre, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu- Alike, Ebonyi State, for commissioning.

While receiving the donation, the Vice- Chancellor, Professor Chinedum Nwajiuba, who was represented at the event by Dr. Ezeocha, Director, Physical Planning, and Works & Services, welcomed all, stating that it was not the first time Samuel Omogu Foundation (SOF) has identified a need in AE-FUNAI and met the need. Prof. Nwajiuba recalled that the organization has in 2018 donated water borehole to Anatomy Department, pointing out that, SOF will not wait for AE-FUNAI to reach out to her before contributing to the progress of the institution, which according to him, showed her unalloyed passion for development in the university. Nwajiuba furthermore noted that SOF was not deterred by the difficulty in locating water as she made extensive theological survey around the clinic area before arriving at the location for best yield of water, bearing in mind the very necessity of water to a medical facility.

Prof. Nwajiuba specially thanked the organization for the second water borehole donation to the school, saying that the event is in honor of the Rev. Fr. Dr. Peter Omogo and prayed that God honors him. He added that it was a big lesson to the Nigerian University system, stating that the University system cannot rely solely on the traditional income revenue intervention and school fees to grow. Prof. Nwajiuba reiterated that the educational system in the country would grow in leaps and bounds when private individuals and organizations get passionate about partnering the university administration in her growth and development and therefore called on other organizations and well spirited individuals to partner AE-FUNAI to grow to an enviable campus status.

The donor,  Rev .Fr. Dr. Peter Omogo thanked God for the impact SOF is making in the life of so many in Ebonyi State, adding that the organization would this year, commission 76 water boreholes in different communities in the State. He said that his expectation is that the water borehole would be beneficial to all within the University Community and further encouraged all to use their God given gifts to help others, for a better Nigeria and Africa as a whole. On that note he commissioned and blessed the water borehole.

 Dr Henry Alo appreciated the Samuel Omogo Foundation, stating that water is a necessity and the most important to life after air and that the Medical Unit and university are grateful for the donation. He further wished Rev. Fr. Dr. Omogo safe trip back to his destination.
