PRESIDENT AE-FUNAI WA CELEBRATES WITH CHILDREN OF STAFF, OTHERS

The Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike Women’s Association(AE-FUNAI WA), an umbrella body of all female staff of the University under the leadership of Dr. (Mrs.) Chinyere Nwajiuba, recently organized an end-of-the-year party for children of staff and members of the University host community.

The event which was a first of its kind in the history of the University was geared towards celebrating love among staff and their children and the promotion of synergy and camaraderie in the institution.

 Witnessed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba, the event which was held in a convivial atmosphere drew tens of Children within and outside the University environment, who danced to various scintillating tunes in company of their peers, parents and some members of the University Management.

Addressing the children, Dr. (Mrs.) Nwajiuba expressed her deep love for the children, especially in their academic growth and development, noting that the association was on the verge of starting the University’s crèche, nursery and primary schools soon.

 She admonished them to always be of good conduct, respectful and loyal to their parents and elders so as to attract generosity and deeper love from them and the society at large.

“Be of good conduct, be obedient and work closely with your parents as this will endear you to them.

“Never misbehave but ensure that you always read your books so that you will be better children in the society

“Remember the scripture that children should obey their parents so that their days will be long”, she stated.

Highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of prizes to the best brains on recitations and current affairs, meant to encourage and develop the children’s mental abilities. The Vice-Chancellor also danced with the children to their admiration.
