VC CONDOLES STAFF, STUDENTS ON THE DEATH OF DEAN, FBMS
The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi State, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba has commiserated with staff, students and the entire University Community on the sudden demise of the Dean, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Prof. Robert Nneli and a driver, Mr. Dan Nwangbo.
Recall, the sad event took place on Thursday, 13th April, 2017 in a fatal road accident at 135 Ezzangbo, along Abakaliki – Enugu expressway.

Speaking on Thursday, 20th April, 2017 during a meeting with staff of the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, the Vice Chancellor condoled with them on the death of their Dean, Prof. Nneli.
In a grief-stricken remark, the Vice Chancellor advised staff to build their confidence on Christ, noting that the late Dean was a good Christian who never hid his Christian fate. He further stated that what could have been a moment of joy for the University, as the University’s 3 academic programmes, including Physiology (Prof. Nneli’s department) have just got National Universities Commission (NUC) full accreditation, was turned soar by his sudden demise.
Recounting with nostalgia his last encounter with the late Nneli on the fateful day, the Vice Chancellor explained that the University made various efforts to save his life in the hospital but to no avail, thanking God that his only son-Victor survived the auto crash and was now responding to treatment in a hospital at Enugu.
The Vice Chancellor further noted that the University has ensured that the boy was been adequately catered for in the hospital by paying the medical expenses so far and had also been in touch with the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi on the matter, who has promised to off-set the hospital bills of the 2nd year Engineering student of the University.
The highpoint of the meeting was a prayer session for the eternal repose of Prof. Nneli’s soul, quick recovery of Victor and for God’s limitless protection for Management, staff and students of the University.
