You Cannot Write the History of Engineering in AE-FUNAI without Mentioning Mathew Edeoga – VC

The Vice-Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, Professor Chinedum Nwajiuba says the history of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology in the institution would be incomplete without mentioning the notable efforts made by Dr. Mathew O. Edeoga in its establishment as  the pioneer Dean.

The Vice-Chancellor made this known yesterday at Aku, Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area in Enugu State, when he led members of the university management to commiserate with the family of Edeoga, who passed on recently.

 “His death was a big shock to us. We cannot talk of Engineering in our university without mentioning Mathew Edeoga

“He, with others worked assiduously for the establishment of the Faculty and he did his best as its pioneer Dean”, the Vice-Chancellor stated.

Also, speaking during the visit, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Sunday Elom noted that the deceased was a very dutiful person, who championed the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology in the university.

 He further prayed God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

Responding on behalf of the family, the deceased uncle, Mr. Edwin Edeoga explained that they were still in shock over the sudden demise of their brother, whom he noted was their pillar and pathfinder.

He also thanked the Vice-Chancellor for finding time out of his tight schedule to commiserate with them, adding that they would inform the university about the burial plan when it is decided.

Recall that Mathew O. Edeoga PhD died on Thursday, 26th July, 2018 after a brief illness.  He was a former Director of Linkages and Advancement and the pioneer Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State.
