The AE-FUNAI students on arrival to France

Recently, the University’s French Centre, under the Directorship of Prof. Nnenna Nwosu-Nworuh, took three 300-level B.A French students of the University to France for Language Immersion (Year Abroad) Programme. This is coming when Nigerian Universities no longer consider sending students studying French to France. According to Prof. Nwosu-Nworuh, who personally accompanied the students on the trip, the purpose was to properly groom the students in French language and culture.

Prof. Nwosu-Nworuh applauded the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chinedum Nwajiuba, for approving the trip, adding that students of AE-FUNAI were the only ones from West Africa, amongst other undergraduates from USA, Asia, Oceania and South America to be sent for such programme. She stated that the programme, which would last for 7 months, started with placement test which yielded positive results, as the students’ proficiency level matched the tested competences, for which they were commended, indicative of the fact that AE-FUNAI French Unit is doing a great job.

The students attending the programme in France are Emmanuel Daniel EZE, Samuel Enyinnaya NWORUH and Amarachi Daniella OKECHUKWU.
