Five academic programmes of the Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi State have secured the accreditation of National Universities Commission (NUC).

The good news was conveyed to the University in a letter dated 29th March, 2017 with reference number, NUC/ES/412/VOL.10/405 and signed by the Director of Quality Assurance, National Universities Commission, Dr. N. B Saliu.

Recall that an NUC accreditation team visited the University in the last quarter of 2016 for the purpose of determining the accreditation status of five of the University’s courses, namely Anatomy, Physiology, Biotechnology, Statistics, and Fine and Applied Arts.

The letter conveying the result of the exercise Shows that Physiology, Biotechnology and Statistics secured full NUC accreditation while Anatomy and Fine and Applied Arts received interim accreditation.

By this, the admissions of the students of the University into the respective programmes, including their call up to NYSC after graduation are now guaranteed.

The result of the accreditation exercise also underscores the goal of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba towards ensuring that all academic programmes of the University receives full NUC accreditation before the expiration of his tenure.
