FUNAI MALE HOSTEL WEARS NEW LOOK
The Male hostels of the Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi state is now wearing a new look as the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Chinedum Nwajiuba has extended his uncommon transformational tentacles to the hostels. The hostels prior to his intervention have suffered heavy infrastructural decay occasioned by the inability of the users (students) to exhibit ‘ownership spirit’ which led to the quick deterioration of the facilities therein.
Professor Nwajiuba who penultimate month directed the Physical Planning, Works and Services directorate to hurriedly restore the ambiance of the hostels before the resumption of the 2016/2017 academic session in order to ensure a serene and conducive living environment for students, decried the attitude of some students towards University property, adding that henceforth occupiers of the various rooms in the University hostels would be held accountable for their actions.

He stated that though the University is facing dwindling revenue due to the ongoing economic recession, the University Management had to fund the rehabilitation of the hostels in the interest of her students’ welfare, adding that he would not rest in his oars until the University assumes pride position as e reputable citadel of learning, where students are trained to acquire knowledge that meets the needs of the 21st century and be responsible citizens.
