FUNAI SENATE FROWNS AT ABSENTEEISM, LATENESS TO WORK BY STAFF
The Senate of the Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo, FUNAI, has risen from its 32nd Regular meeting held on May 25th, 2016, with a condemnation of absenteeism and lateness to work by some staff of the University.
The Senate reaffirmed that the official office hours span from 8.00 am to 4.00pm from Monday to Friday, except on public holidays and urged staff to “imbue the culture of punctuality; otherwise any staff who fails to be at his/her office on or before 8.00am would have himself/herself to blame.”
The Senate made it clear that it had never approved that lecturers should come to work only when they had lectures as was currently the practice of some lecturers and urged the teaching staff to be regular to school even when they had no lectures as failure to adhere to this instruction would attract utmost sanction.
