FUNAI VC Inaugurates SERVICOM Committee, Charges Staff to Do Their Job

The Vice Chancellor of Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi State, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba yesterday inaugurated a 15-Man SERVICOM Committee as part of the University’s resolve to pursue excellence and improve service delivery.

The inauguration of the Committee is one of the conditions required for establishing the institution’s SERVICOM charter, and they are charged with the responsibility of ensuring that the spirit and letter of SERVICOM are entrenched in every fabric of the University.

 Speaking at the event, Prof. Nwajiuba said SERVICOM was about good service delivery, stressing that the Federal Government established it to arrest the rot and inefficiency in the Nigerian Public Service and charged all staff of the University to do their jobs to avoid running foul of  the SERVICOM rules.

Highlighting the importance of the Committee, the Acting Director of SERVICOM, Mr Friday Onwumere, maintained that the committee would assist in improving the quality of service delivery in the University, adding that the body would also help in the review of the University’s SERVICOM service charter.

Members of the committee were drawn from different service windows in the University. They include; the Principal Officers or their representatives, Deans of Faculties and Students’ Affairs, Director, School of Foundations Studies,  Prof. Michael Onuh, Director of Physical Planning and Works Services, Dr. A.I Ezeocha, Deputy Director, Medical Services, Dr. Henry Aloh, HoU, Admissions/Academic Affairs, HoU, Exams and Records, HoU, Security, HoUs, Male and Female Hostels and the Ag. Director of SERVICOM, Mr. Friday Onwumere, as Secretary.
