HON. OGBEH DECRIES SPATE OF ABANDONED PROJECTS IN FUNAI

The member representing Ikwo/Ezza South constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Lazarus Ogbeh has decried the spate of abandoned projects at the Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi State.

The Legislator made his feeling known on Monday, 12th June, 2017 when he visited the University as part of his constituency activities to monitor the progress of approved Federal projects in the institution.

He pledged to use his legislative powers to report and summon the defaulting contractors to the National Assembly, advising them to return to sites immediately to avoid further scrutiny.

Appreciating the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba for the numerous developmental works going on in the institution, the former Chairman of Ezza South Local Government Area said the Vice Chancellor has initiated lots of changes in the University, and pledged his continued support and that of his constituents to the development of the institution.

“The environment has really changed and wearing a look of a University

“We will continue to support you

“We will help you to develop the University”, he stated.

Ogbeh further used the opportunity to call on his constituents-University’s host community and other stakeholders not to antagonize the University Management in their quest to development the area.

“I am calling on my people and all stakeholders in the State not to antagonize the University Management but to join hands with them to develop the University”, he said.

Earlier, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nwajiuba expressed his gratitude for the way Ogbeh has related with the University. And thanked him especially for the two boreholes he sunk in the University, adding that his open-mindedness and support to the development of the institution would always be appreciated.

“You are a co-builder and co-partner of the University”, the Vice Chancellor attested.

The highpoint of the visit was on-the-spot assessment of projects sites in the University.
