I WANT A BEAUTIFUL CAMPUS’, FUNAI VC TASKS CONTRACTORS

The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba has tasked contractors carrying out various construction works in the University to ensure their activities meet international standard. The Vice Chancellor gave this charge on Thursday, 8th December, 2016 when the University signed Memorandum of Understanding with several organizations, geared towards the University’s infrastructural renaissance.

The signing of the MOU was a testament that the clarion call of the Vice Chancellor in the area of collaboration and partnership with public and private organizations is already yielding dividends, as about five companies entered into agreement with the University to discharge various infrastructural works geared towards development of the campus.

Prof. Nwajiuba used the event to call on Nigerians to get serious about things, noting that development cannot take place through happenstance, wishful thinking and head knowledge but through deliberate efforts and functional knowledge. The Vice Chancellor further stressed the importance of timely and quality execution of the projects, advising the contractors to be true to their mandates and avoid cutting corners while executing the works.

In their response, the contractors pledged to be professional in the course of executing the projects, and vowed to leave positive footprints in the University through their works.

The MOUs were for the architectural, electrical and structural works in the Faculty of Engineering Workshop, ongoing 2,500 sitter University auditorium and the development of the University master plan.
