
PROMOTION: FUNAI STAFF IN JUBILANT MOOD
The atmosphere at the Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi state on Tuesday, 3rd January, 2017 was that of utter jubilation as many senior staff of the institution, teaching and non-teaching inclusive, turned up at the personnel unit of the University to receive their letters of promotion. The University Governing Council had in their 6th Regular Meeting held on Wednesday, 21st December, 2016 approved the promotion of some staff of the University.

The staff who received their letters with great joy poured encomium on the University Governing Council for approving their promotion and the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba for living up to his promise of ensuring that staff were promoted in due time, noting that the promotion letters were wonderful New Year gifts from the University. They added that the kind gesture from the University would spur them to higher productivity in the performance of their duties.

Prof. Nwajiuba had promised on assumption of duty to ensure that all those due for promotion in the University were promoted without delay in order to encourage organizational loyalty and increase workers’ morale as the University strives to become a world-class institution of learning reputed nationally and internationally for the quality of its research output and graduates.
In the letters conveying the Council’s approval for their promotion the staff were encouraged to put in their very best in the service of the University in their new positions.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor had earlier approved the promotion of some junior staff of the University and also the upgrading of some of them that have acquired higher certificates to the senior cadre, all geared towards promoting the culture of excellence, hard work and fairness in the University as well as encourage other junior staff to improve their academic and intellectual standing as they work in the University.
