
SCHOOL OF PRE-DEGREE AND FOUNDATION STUDIES GETS NEW DIRECTOR
A new acting director has been appointed for the FUNAI School of Foundation Studies. He is Dr. Onuora Benedict Nweke.
Dr Nweke who was before his appointment the acting head of department of Languages/Linguistics/Literary Studies/Visual Arts/Mass Communication succeeds Professor Johnson Urama whose tenure has expired. Dr Nweke is also the Chairman of the FUNAI Cooperative and Thrift Society and an accomplished academic and astute University manager.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Chinedum Nwajiuba, disclosed this while receiving the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), FUNAI Chapter in his office.
Professor Nwajiuba said that the appointment of Dr. Onuorah Nweke as the new Director of the Centre was due to his creativity and innovation, which according to him were the hallmarks of today’s leadership.
The new Director is expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new position in turning the centre around to be in consonance with the Vice Chancellor’s vision of growing a modern University where creativity, innovation and ideas are the forte.
