
SECAN 2016: FUNAI ACADEMIC EMERGES BEST RESEARCHER
An academic in the Department of Anatomy, Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi State, Gabriel Godson Akunna has won the 2016 SECAN Best Researcher Award.

Akunna had won same award during the 2014 and 2015 editions of the Scientific and Annual General Meeting of the Clinical and Experimental Anatomists of Nigeria (SECAN) held at the University of Nigeria Nsukka and the University of Lagos respectively.
At this year’s SECAN Conference held at the Delta State University, Abraka, Akunna, once again shown like a million stars in the midst of many researchers drawn across the country and beyond, thus cementing his status as a reputable academic in his field of study.

Speaking after he was declared winner of the 2016 competition, he attributed his exploits and perennial success as a researcher to hard work, dedication and the huge support the University (FUNAI) has availed him.
Akunna further extolled the passion of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba in taking the University to greater heights, noting that the Vice Chancellor’s leadership style was his driving force in achieving the feats and pledged his commitment in painting the image of the University in good light.
